The following is an actual case study from Sunstone Circuits…
The story began with a call from a customer, who is part of a research team from
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), to say that the PCBs we shipped
to his team were delivered to the wrong address. Our standard protocol for this
type of situation would simply not work because the MIT team had their bags packed,
passports in hand and airline tickets ready to fly across the globe to Honduras
in less than 48 hours!
Fraught with desperation to avoid wasting many months of hard work and precious
research dollars, the MIT team member asked to speak with the President of Sunstone
to plead his case. With empathy and the desire to live out our Mission, Vision &
Values, our senior executive team put into motion the internal resources necessary
to take bold and decisive steps to make sure the MIT research team got what they
needed, including the cell phone number of the President and his pledge to answer
their call 24/7/365!
The email below tells the rest of the tale of the marine application. The moral
of this story is that Q2D (quote to delivery) is not just a marketing gimmick, it
is our way:
“Thanks so much for your interest. As you probably know we got the PCBs on time!
At 5 am in Boston airport and the freight terminal and at 7am we took off for Honduras.
We had soldering equipment and we manage to assemble 6 of them. We had couple of
bugs from our side but we managed to fix them there, and the experiment was a success
in the end. The modems worked and we had the expected range of communication. Of
course with a little bit of extra adrenaline... I and my team were very impressed
and extremly grateful for your support before Honduras trip.
